Professional Learning Workshop
Every year there are over 5,000 bushfires that Department of Fire and Emergency Services and Parks and Wildlife Service respond to. Most are relatively minor, but some become major incidents that threaten lives and property.
DFES and Nearer to Nature (Parks and Wildlife Service) provide a range of curriculum-linked classroom materials, excursions and incursions that explore the topic of bushfires in WA.
Students build an understanding of how households and communities prepare for, mitigate and respond to bushfires and their risks
This FREE workshop includes:

Hands-on field work activities with Nearer to Nature including assessing bushfire risk at forest sites; building risk assessment and fire behaviour

Bushfire Wars TV series: free teaching and learning material
