Bring your family to our twilight spectacular at the Perth Hills Discovery Centre. We will discover nocturnal wonders and visions of the cosmos during this interactive night time experience. 

Take part in an interactive exploration of  nocturnal insects led by invertebrate expert David Knowles. You will get the chance to participate in a special insect trapping session using scientific equipment, with plenty of chances to take photos of these extraordinary night time invertebrates. 

We'll explore the impact of light pollution through the perspectives of dedicated scientists and come together for a starry discussion, telescope observations of the moon and an introduction to our superb Western Australian landscapes and wonders of the southern night sky's, inspired by Dr Goldsmith’s latest astrophotography book “Visions of the Cosmos”. 

To enhance your twilight experience, we're also treating the whole family to a sausage sizzle. 

Please note tickets must be purchased for all attending participants both adults and children. 

Children's tickets are for children 15yrs and under. 

Adult tickets are required for participants 15yrs+.

Please advise of any dietary requirements in the special requirements section when you are booking. 

Camping is optional and available (at an extra cost). Please email Knowyourpatch@dbca.wa.gov.au with your preferred campsite if you are interested in camping.

Quenda - 3.5 x 2.6m / Woylie 3.3 x 2.8m 

These campsites are located next to each other. Good for families with two tents or friends.

Mardoo 1 -3.6m x 4m  /  Mardoo 2 - 3m x 3.4m. 

These campsites are located next to each other. Good for families with two tents or friends. 

Tammar - 1m x 3.5m / Tammar 2 - 4 x 2.3m.

These campsites are located next to each other. Good for families with two tents or friends. 

Blue wren 4.4m x 3.2m  / Phascogale 3.4m x 3.6m / Possum 4 x 3.4m 

Twenty Eight 3.8m x 3.5m  / Chuditch 4.8m x 5.4m / Coolbaroo 4.5m x 2.5m

Please note this experience is for the whole family but children must be ages 6+ to participate.

If bringing siblings under the age of 6yrs for camping, please note, no ticket needs to be purchased for the child or adult supervising the child. Children under the age of 6yrs must be supervised by an adult at the campground during the duration of the activity.

The ages for each activity are in place for all participants to get the most out of their activity. In most cases, these age limits are in place due to activity content, recommendations by outside providers or for safety reasons. 

We appreciate your understanding in booking only children who are age appropriate into activities.  

Please note the tickets for this special event are valued at $45 per person. 

We have a special summer school holiday price $39 for adults and $29 children under 15yrs. 

This 3hr interactive experience with our invertebrate, light pollution and astrophotography experts shouldn't be missed.

- A full refund will be provided for any cancellations more than 48 hours before the start time of the activity.  

- Please do not attend if any of your family members are unwell and displaying possible Covid-19 symptoms, have been in recent contact with a confirmed Covid-19 case or have been advised to self-isolate.  

- If any of the attending members arrive with a cough, runny nose or fever, *program name* has the right to ask that you not participate in the activity.
