Get ready for a day of discovery where science, culture and forest fun come alive! Join us at the Perth Hills Discovery center and meet a scientist (Dr Kit Prendergast) who's working to protect our native bees and learn all about their role in keeping ecosystems healthy. You'll help restore some of our bee hotels around the Center, then pick up the tools and build your very own bee hotel to take home. Next, we'll roll up our sleeves and set up camp. Gather around the fire to learn some Noongar names for local plants and animals, then take part in a NAIDOC themed scavenger hunt that celebrates culture, connection and the forest.  We'll cook damper over the fire, practice some bush safety and head out on a wild bush adventure to connect with nature. Its a full day of hands on learning, cultural discovery and nature fun!

This is a 'drop and leave' activity suitable for children 8-14 years of age. Tickets must be purchased for participating children only. The ages for each activity are in place for your children to get the most out of
their activity and due to safety and management on a drop-off activity we cannot allow older or younger children to participate. We appreciate your understanding in booking only children who are age appropriate into activities. 

Please note that our activities are carried out with recommendations and advice from the WA government to ensure the health and safety of our participants, staff and volunteers.    

Please do not attend if any of your family members are unwell and displaying possible COVID -19 symptoms. If any of the attending members arrive with a cough, runny nose or fever, Nearer to Nature has the right to ask that you not participate in the activity.
