An Introduction to Western Shield
Meet some of Australia’s most endangered mammals—like the Gilbert’s Potoroo, Numbat, and Woylie. Students will discover the unique features of these native species and learn why they are under threat.
Explore how the Western Shield program is helping bring these animals back from the brink of extinction. Students will get hands-on experience with real monitoring tools used by scientists, such as cage traps, hair tubes, and measuring equipment.
Through fun, interactive activities, students will learn how feral animals impact our wildlife and how Western Shield works to protect threatened species. This program offers a fascinating insight into conservation efforts and the techniques used to monitor and save our native fauna.
Incursion Duration is 1 hr.
Venue: Your school (or location of your choice)
COST: One class (up to 30 students) is $400 per hour or part thereof, second session, $250 per hour incursion. includes GST
