Aquatic Ecosystems @ RAC Nature Park Margaret River - Home School Activity
You will be amazed to see what is living in the Margaret River at the Apex Weir! On a guided walk you will learn about plants and animals that help keep our water clean. At the river's edge, identify a host of weird and wonderful mini-beasts, many of which are the young of land animals such as dragonflies and all of which contribute to a healthy forest.
Bring your wellies and raincoats and be prepared to have some fun down by the water.
This activity is suitable for students from Year 5 to Year 10. Younger siblings are welcome to come along but will need to be under constant parental supervision. Please note a separate activity - Features of Creatures will be running at the same time for younger siblings, Years 1 to 4.
Upon booking, a pre and post excursion booklet will be emailed to you.
The learning outcomes from this activity meet the curriculum requirements of Science (yrs 4 - 10), Geography, Biology and Integrated Science (Yrs 10 -12). A detailed document is available outlining links upon request. The content will be modified appropriate for the age of the student and younger students will still get a lot from the activity.
