Life Amongst the Mangroves @ Mangrove Cove

Did you know that Bunbury is home to the most southern occurrence of White Mangroves. Join the Nearer to Nature SW Team as we take a closer look at this unique ecosystem and learn why they are important. 

Together we will explore the Mangrove Cove environment and its inhabitants. On the newly constructed boardwalk, we will take a close look at the macroinvertebrates that live in amongst the Mangroves and form the basis of many o the food chain. Afterwards we will conduct a bird survey and if we are lucky, we may spot the Ospreys that are at the top of the food chain whilst we walk along the edge of the inlet. 

This experience is for children aged 7+ years and their accompanying adults. Only children require a ticket. It is a 1.5 hour activity. Bring snacks and water bottles with you in a backpack as we will be moving around. Please wear long pants and enclosed shoes and dress appropriately for the weather. 

Terms and Conditions:

• A minimum number of participants is required. Event organizers have the right to cancel the event if minimum numbers are not reached. The decision to cancel the event will be made 1-2 days before the commencement of the event and notice will be given to participants via email or phone contact. A full refund will be provided.

• Children must be accompanied by an adult and be under their responsibility during the event. Activity suitable for children 7 years and over. Only children require a ticket. Siblings under 7 yrs are welcome and do not require a ticket but please note we will be out on the boardwalk for part of the activity.

• Event may be cancelled if weather is looking particularly wet. Notice will be given to participants via email or phone contact. A full refund will be provided. 

• A full refund will be provided for any cancellations more than 48 hours before the start time of the activity.
