Exploring River Ecosystems: A Hands-On Adventure

Dive into the fascinating world of freshwater ecology with this immersive, interactive program! Students will step into the role of environmental scientists as they explore the vibrant macroinvertebrate communities thriving in the Canning River. Using field equipment they’ll collect samples, identify species and uncover the secrets of these tiny creatures that play a big role in keeping wetland ecosystems healthy.

Through observation and investigation, students will discover how aquatic life supports biodiversity, water quality and the delicate balance of food webs. Want to go deeper? We can tailor the experience to focus on classification, adaptations, or food web dynamics, making this an unforgettable learning journey that connects science to the real world.
