Enjoy the great outdoors!

Bring the whole school, multiple classes or year levels to a day of discovery immersed in nature in the Canning River Regional Park.



You can choose three of the following options:

Creepy Crawlies - Students get the opportunity to sample and record the amazing and diverse macroinvertebrate communities that live in the Canning River.

Animal Encounter - Get up close to some of our unique native animals and learn about their special adaptations to our harsh climate. Choose from reptiles or birds of prey

Invertebrate scavenger hunt - Discover trees and their lifecycles, while investigating the world of invertebrates and the different habitats of the Canning River Park

Bird's Eye view - using binoculars and surveying techniques, students discover the waterbirds that live in and visit our stunning regional parks

River Diaries - Revealing the river’s past. Students glimpse into the past lives of those who settled around the Canning River by investigating historical records such as maps, photos and diaries.

Catchment Model - Learn about catchment land uses with our three-dimensional, hands on, interactive catchment model.

Bush detectives - Australian animals are an elusive lot. Examine different evidence to determine what animals have left them behind.

Pobblebonk Swamp - Discover what habitat attributes are important to frogs and learn to recognize frogs of the southwest by listening to their calls.

COST: $1529 (inc. GST) for programs (120 students - 4 classes x 30 students each: No Animal encounter)

           OR            $3069 (inc. GST) for programs (120 students - 4 classes x 30 students each: including Animal encounter)

      

Duration: 10am-2pm. 4hrs and includes morning tea and lunch breaks. 

Venue: Canning River Eco Education Centre, Wilson

  1. Maximum students per group leader is 30.  Multiple groups can be accommodated.
