Years 11 and 12

Western Australia’s native wildlife faces many threats to survival, particularly from introduced predators. Students will learn how Parks and Wildlife’s key Conservation Strategy, Western Shield, is re-establishing native animal populations through introduced predator control and fauna monitoring. In a hands-on experience, students will use real-world techniques to sample native fauna and gain an understanding of analysing population data (abundance). This skill will assist further exploration in the classroom with additional data provided from Nearer to Nature monitoring sessions.

Please Note: Fauna Biology is a 4.5hour activity starting at 10am and finishing at 2.30pm. If your class cannot stay until the 2.30pm finish time, you will need to complete some of the Conservation Strategy part of the workbook back in class using resources provided

COST: $16.50 per student (inc GST)  

Minimum payment for 20 students ($330.00). 

Minimum payment for 40 students for bookings with over 30 students.

• Perth Hills Discovery Centre, Mundaring
• Forest Discovery Centre, Dwellingup (depending on availability)

1. Maximum students per group is 30.  Multiple groups can be accommodated.
